It was the villa of an ancient Roman baronial family, the cardinal Albani, great patron, wanted for himself a villa that could accommodate his famous collections of ancient art. The Torlonia princes and the Alban princes united their families in a great and sumptuous marriage, and from that moment on the villa is called Albani-Torlonia. Its marvelous Italian garden with statues and pools, fountains and fish pond, borders on our villa. It was also the residence of Luigi Pirandello’s family (Nobel Prize).

From the loggia of the turret of the villa you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the park of the villa with its ancient trees, and the villa itself, which contains one of the most important private collections of Greek Roman art in the world.

Just the two annexes have hosted in the past years a collaborator of Albert Einstein from youth to the last days of life, and the villa has hosted the descendants of Luigi Pirandello who had the Nobel Prize the same year as Albert Einstein.
